Service Opportunities:
1. EPIC Cure has opportunities and food distribution every week, multiple times a week and always needs volunteers. Info for their upcoming events can be found on their Facebook page: www.facebook.com/EpicCureCharity
2. The St. Augustine Humane Society is always looking for volunteers to help serve animals. Link to sign up: www.justserve.org/staugustinehumanesociety
3. Hopefull Handbags: Students can always collect and fill bags for this organization. Link for info: www.facebook.com/HopefullHandbags/
4. Hugs Across the County is always looking for volunteers for various projects that they have going on. www.facebook.com/HugsAcrosstheCounty
5. SJVS NHS Reading Buddies Program: In partnership with the public library system, you can sign up to be a reading buddy where you let a K-5 student read to you for 30 mins. If you are interested, email me at [email protected] and I will forward it to the program coordinator.

Assessing Equity in Your Student Activities January 13, 2022 | 5:00 p.m. ET
Presenters will discuss the role of diversity and inclusion in student activities, even in clubs and organizations such as the National Honor Society, which may be perceived as exclusive. Practitioners and counselors will speak to ways that they have conducted outreach and in-reach to transform and build student activities and leadership programs. The panel conversation and interactive Q&A will include best practices for creating equitable opportunities in your school community.

Virtual Tutoring Program Fills a Need for Many Students During the pandemic, a lot of the typical in-person opportunities for community service—like tutoring classmates in the library— were not available safely. A senior at John F. Kennedy High School created Blast Off Tutoring in response. Read more about this program and its origins here!
